PORTLAND, Ore. -- Michael Harthun scored 22 points to lead Portland State to a 91-87 victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Thursday night.

Lateef McMullan added 15 points for the Vikings (6-4) while Charles Odum chipped in 14 points and Chehales Tapscott grabbed 12 rebounds. Portland State shot 67 percent from the field (33 for 49).

Issiah Grayson and Robert Hays each had 17 points to lead Cal State Bakersfield (5-4).

With the score tied at 67, Harthun's short jumper started a 9-2 Vikings run. Portland State led by as many as 12 points while holding the Roadrunners without a basket for nearly five minutes.

Bakersfield closed to within one point in the final minute but the Vikings hit six of eight free throws to seal the win.

Harthun made 9 of 11 shots, with both misses coming from 3-point range. Bakersfield shot 51 percent.
