SAN ANTONIO -- Kareem Nitoto scored 20 points and Robert Smith added 16 to lead UC Riverside to a 70-65 victory against UTSA on Wednesday night.
Elliott Berry had 11 points and Phil Martin and Kevin Bradshaw nine each for the Highlanders (6-7). Nitoto and Smith made four 3-pointers each, and Bradshaw collected 10 rebounds.Jeromie Hill scored 21 points and made four 3-pointers for the Roadrunners (6-6). Kannon Burrage added 15 points and Melvin Johnson III 13.A 3-pointer by Nitoto began a 16-4 run over 3:59 of the second half that gave UC Riverside a 55-41 lead. Nitoto had five points and Berry four during the surge.
