NEW YORK -- Chris Gaston scored 23 points and grabbed 17 rebounds as Fordham beat Georgia Tech 72-66 on Thursday night.
Gaston leads the NCAA in double-doubles this season with 10.Georgia Tech (7-6) cut the Fordham lead to three, 56-53, with 6:40 left to play behind Daniel Miller's three-point play. But Brandon Frazier sparked a 9-3 run to put the Rams ahead 65-56 with 3:49 remaining.Frazier scored five points during the run and Gaston knocked down two free throws. Frazier finished with a season-high 19 points and six assists for the Rams.Despite outshooting Fordham (6-6) from the field 42.4 percent (25 of 59) to 37.9 percent (22 of 58), the Yellow Jackets only made 6 of 14 free throws and sent the Rams to the line 34 times.Fordham converted 22 of those attempts.Jason Morris led Georgia Tech with 17 points and Brandon Reed chipped in with 16.
