SAN DIEGO -- Gonzaga closed out the regular season with a 65-57 victory over San Diego on Saturday, but still saw its 11-year run as regular-season champion of the West Coast Conference come to an end.
The Bulldogs (23-5, 13-3) finished second after St. Mary's (14-2) clinched the conference title with a 67-60 win over San Francisco later Saturday. The top two seeds get a bye into the semifinals of the West Coast tournament next Saturday.
Johnny Dee had 13 points, and Darian Norris and Dennis Kramer added 10 each for San Diego (12-17, 7-9). The Toreros will be the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament and face No. 7 Pepperdine on Thursday.
Gonzaga pulled ahead 59-57 on a jumper by Sacre with 1:51 remaining and closed the game on an 8-0 run.
