GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Austin Witter scored 10 points, grabbed nine boards and had four steals in North Carolina A&T's 83-52 win over Division III Greensboro College on Friday night in the Aggies' season opener.
Powell also grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds for North Carolina A&T, which outrebounded Greensboro 43-29.
Greensboro held an early 5-0 advantage but wouldn't see the lead again, as Upchruch's layup sparked a 21-4 run to put the Aggies on top 21-9. Middletop capped the run with two free throws.
Luqman Tijani made a 3-pointer to close the gap to 28-24 but Powell and Witter combined to score nine straight points and stretch the Aggies' lead to 37-24. North Carolina A&T led 47-30 at halftime.
Tijani led Greensboro with 29 points on 10-of-14 shooting.
