DURHAM, N.H. -- Patrick Konan scored 16 points to lead five New Hampshire players in double figures as the Wildcats opened their season with a 91-51 victory Saturday over Division III opponent Suffolk, which counted the game as an exhibition.
Konan scored 10 of his points in the first half, when New Hampshire shot 60 percent (21 of 35) and breezed to a 54-23 lead over the Rams, who made 25 percent (7 of 28).
There's nothing to suggest the Jayhawks won't end up atop the Big 12 for a 13th season in a row. But what about a return to the Final Four?
Colorado State graduate transfer John Gillon has chosen Syracuse, giving the Orange a potential starter at point guard entering the 2016-17 season.
DeSean Murray, who averaged 20.2 points as a sophomore at Presbyterian, will transfer to Auburn to play for coach Bruce Pearl.
