PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas -- Jourdan DeMuynck had 17 points, 11 rebounds and five steals as Prairie View A&M defeated Schreiner University 80-51 Sunday.
John Whitty led Schreiner (0-1), a Division III school, with 17 points.
The Mountaineers led 15-13 midway through the first half before Prairie View went on a 21-2 run. During that span, Eleby had two dunks, Ryan Gesiakowski hit two 3-pointers and the Panthers took advantage of six Schreiner turnovers to make it 34-17.
The Mountaineers finished with 29 turnovers and shot just 31 percent from the field.
Prairie View, which shot 53 percent, led by as many as 28 points in the second half when Mayol Riathin hit a layup with 9:31 remaining
