TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Jake Odum scored 17 points on 5-of-6 shooting, helping Indiana State beat Division II foe Truman State 70-57 on Saturday in the first-ever meeting between the schools.
RJ Mahurin added 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench for the Sycamores (2-1), who took control near the end of a back-and-forth first half and never trailed after halftime. Indiana State shot 56 percent from the floor in the second half, outrebounded Truman State 35-26 for the game and scored 32 points in the paint to Truman State's 16.
Indiana State improved to 28-1 over the past three seasons when holding its opponent to 63 points or fewer.
