OREM, Utah -- Five players were in double figures for Utah Valley including Nick Thompson who scored 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting to lead the Wolverines to a 96-70 victory over visiting NAIA Arizona Christian.
Ben Aird scored 17 points, Taylor Brown added 15 and Alfonzo Hubbard scored 14 including a perfect 7 for 7 from the free-throw line. Keawe Enos chipped in with 10. Thompson added seven rebounds and four assists to his point total, helping Utah Valley outscore Arizona Christian 47-31 in the first half.
Utah Valley (2-2) shot 58.6 percent from the field, making 34 of 58 shots and were 21 of 27 from the free-throw line.
Jordan Block led Arizona Christian with 14 points and seven rebounds. Mason Jones had 11 points and four assists. The Firestorm's trip to Utah Valley was considered an exhibition game for Arizona Christian.
