CONWAY, S.C. -- Anthony Raffa scored 14 points in the opening 9:40 of the game to reach 1,000 in his career at Coastal Carolina, and he ended the night with a game-high 26 points to lead the Chanticleers to a 96-40 win over Johnson & Wales (N.C) on Tuesday.
He became the 17th player in school history to reach 1,000 points (in three seasons) with a free throw at the 10:20 mark.
It was the third time in four games Raffa has scored more than 20 points for Coastal Carolina, which is 2-2 after back-to-back losses at Mississippi and Tennessee Tech.
Kindrick Anderson led Johnson & Wales (1-9) with nine points.
Coastal Carolina forced Johnson & Wales into 25 turnovers and held them to 24.1 percent shooting (14 for 58).
