ATLANTA -- Rashaad Richardson hit a half-court 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Georgia State past Tennessee State 59-57 Tuesday night in nonconference action.
Trailing with two seconds left, Tennessee State's (1-4) Deshawn Dockery made a layup to put the Tigers ahead 57-56 with two seconds left to play. The Tigers celebrated, but Richardson answered with some late heroics.
With one second left and Georgia State (2-2) trailing by one, Richardson nailed a 3-pointer from 45-feet as time expired to give the Panthers the victory.
It was Richardson's lone 3-pointer of the night. He finished with nine points.
