MISSOULA, Mont. -- Kevin Henderson hit his third 3-pointer of the night with 3 seconds to play, allowing Montana to escape with a 67-66 victory over San Diego on Saturday night.
Kareem Jamar set up Henderson with his 11th assist of the game for Montana (3-1). Jamar also had six rebounds.
San Diego (3-4) had a chance to pull the game out, but Chris Anderson's 3-point attempt at the buzzer was off the mark.
Johnny Dee scored 22 points to lead San Diego, and Anderson finished with 12 points. Anderson also had seven assists.
Maryland point guard Melo Trimble, considered a lock to leave the program before struggling in the second half last season, has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return for his junior season.
