LAKE CHARLES, La. -- Desharick Guidry scored a career-high 22 points as McNeese State snapped a three-game losing streak with a 93-62 victory over Division III Centenary Tuesday night.
McNeese State hit 8 of 16 3-point attempts. The Cowboys entered being outrebounded 41-30.5 for the season, but won that battle 45-35 on Tuesday.
The victors used scoring runs of 11-2 and 15-5 to build a 40-30 halftime lead. Guidry capped the first run with a dunk for two of his six points during the stretch.
The Cowboys scored the first five points in the second half and led by as many as 17.
Kapita was the top-rated recruit from West Virginia in the class of 2015 and recently played at DME Academy in Florida.
With the Suns drafting Tyler Ulis, they now have five guards on their roster who attended Kentucky.
