JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- Freshman Lester Wilson scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead East Tennessee State to a 94-46 rout of Milligan on Wednesday.
Wilson was 9 of 15 from the field -- including four 3-pointers -- and entered the game leading ETSU and ranked third in the Atlantic Sun in scoring at 17.5 points per game.Milligan (3-4) scored the game's first three points but the lead was short-lived, as ETSU rattled off 11 straight to go ahead 11-3, then used a 17-6 run to expand its lead to 20 at the 6:03 mark.ETSU (2-3) forced six turnovers and held Milligan to 3-of-11 shooting during the run.The Buccaneers led 48-20 at the break behind a 59.4 percent (19 of 32) first-half shooting performance and extended its lead to as much as 54 points, 91-40, in the second half.Tyler DeVault led Milligan with 10 points.
Milligan did not attempt a free throw in their 94-46 loss to East Tennessee State Thursday. They are the first team to not attempt a free throw in a game this season, and it only happened twice last season. Illinois did not attempt a free throw against Iowa on March 8, 2012, and Pacific did not attempt a free throw against Stanford on November 28, 2011.
