CHENEY, Wash. -- Venky Jois scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Eastern Washington past Cal State Fullerton 79-75 on Friday night.
Jois was 10 of 14 from the field. Justin Crosgile also posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. He was 4 of 8 from 3-point range.
Though the Eagles had 19 turnovers, they shot 45.6 percent from the field for the game. The Titans shot 38 percent from the field for the game.
The Titans (3-3) led 46-39 at halftime in a game with 10 ties and eight lead changes.
The loss snapped Cal State Fullerton's three-game win streak.
It's about time for someone other than Duke and Kentucky to grab the top class. Could it be Tom Izzo and Michigan State in 2017?
There's nowhere to go but up for the Eagles, who were winless in the ACC last season but return a slew of young players who gained valuable experience.
