LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Daniel Mullings had 21 points and 11 rebounds as New Mexico State handed Southern Mississippi its first defeat of the season, 68-60, on Saturday night.
Sim Bhullar added 17 points for the Aggies (4-4), who shot 56 percent from the field. Mullings hit 6 of 9 shots and was 9 for 10 at the free-throw line, while Bhullar hit on 7 of 8 from the field and 3 of 6 from the line.
The Aggies used a 19-6 first-half run capped by Mullings' dunk with 3:26 remaining to go on top 36-20. The Golden Eagles never got closer than eight points in the second half.
