CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Jackson Stevenett scored 15 points, leading six Southern Utah players in double digits, and the Thunderbirds beat San Diego Christian 95-65 Saturday night.
Stevenett had eight rebounds and was 6 of 6 from the free throw line. Damon Heuir and Wade Collie had 13 points apiece. Jayson Cheesman had 12 points, nine rebounds. Jaren Jeffery and Jordon Johnson had 10 points apiece for the Thunderbirds (2-6).
The Thunderbirds started with a dunk by Jeffery and never trailed. After leading 40-31 at halftime, Southern Utah shot 63 percent from the field in the second half, 55.9 percent for the game.
San Diego Christian, an NAIA school, shot 32.8 percent from the field for the game.
