LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Rashaad Richardson drained a go-ahead 3-pointer with 3 seconds left to lift Georgia State over Liberty 67-66 Sunday in a nonconference game.
With the Panthers (4-4) down 65-61, Georgia State's RJ Hunter converted a three-point play, and then Liberty's Casey Roberts made 1 of 2 free throws to put the Flames up 66-64.
Hunter grabbed the rebound when Roberts missed the second free throw, and Georgia State took the ball the other way, setting up Richardson's winning shot.
Liberty's 0-8 start is the worst in program history.
Georgia State trailed 37-29 at halftime but opened on a 9-0 run. The lead change was the first of seven in the second half.
Davon Marshall hit six 3-pointers and tallied 25 points for Liberty, both career highs.
