NEWARK, Del. -- Devon Saddler scored 18 and Jamelle Hagins finished with a double-double, 16 points and 10 rebounds, as Delaware beat Radford 68-59 Tuesday night in a nonconference game.
Trailing 34-33 early in the second half, Delaware (3-6) went on a 16-3 run, capped by Saddler's 3-pointer to give Delaware a 49-37 lead with 11:25 left to play.Radford (5-4) struggled shooting in the second half, shooting 29 percent (9 for 31) in the second half compared to Delaware's 46.2 percent (12 for 26).Radford cut the lead to six, 56-50 with 7:39 remaining, but free throws by Kyle Anderson and a layup by Carl Baptiste pushed the lead back to double figures. Late free throws by Saddler sealed the victory.R.J. Price and Ya Ya Anderson led Radford with 14 points apiece.
