CONWAY, S.C. -- Dom Morris scored 18 points and D.J. Irving made two free throws with 9 seconds left to lead Boston University past Coastal Carolina 69-63 Thursday night in the nonconference opponents' second meeting in nine days.
Unlike the last one, when the Terriers (3-5) rolled to a 74-44 win in Boston, the Chanticleers (2-5) never trailed by more than 10 points Thursday.
Irving hit his free throws after he was fouled immediately following a layup by Kierre Greenwood that brought Coastal Carolina within 67-63. Greenwood, who also hit a jumper with 19 seconds left, led the Chanticleers with 19 points.
Morris got 10 of his points in the first 12 minutes of the second half and made 9 of 11 shots in the game. Travis Robinson added 15 points for Boston University, which has won three straight.
Anthony Raffa, averaging 23.0 points per game for Coastal Carolina, was held to 10.
