CHENEY, Wash. -- Stephen Madison scored 29 and Kyle Barone scored 20 to lead Idaho to an 81-79 overtime victory over Eastern Washington on Thursday night.
Barone had 11 rebounds, and Madison had 10 to give both double-doubles.Connor Hill and Mansa Habeeb added 10 points apiece for the Vandals (3-4).Eastern Washington led 34-33 at halftime in a game that saw 22 lead changes. At 15:53 in the second half, the Eagles led by 17.With 3:22 to play, a 3-pointer by Hill put Idaho up 65-62, and Madison made two free throws to make it 67-62.Venky Jois hit a layup for the Eagles, and Justin Crosgile made a 3-pointer at 1:32 to tie the score at 67.During overtime, Idaho shot 75 percent from the field. Eastern Washington (2-6) shot 42.9 percent.Crosgile had 26 points. Jois had 13 points, 10 rebounds. Thomas Reuter added 11 and Martin Seiferth 10.
Eastern Washington lost in overtime Thursday to Idaho despite only committing four turnovers. It is the first time a team has committed four or fewer turnovers in an overtime game and lost since Northwestern on December 30, 2009 against Illinois.
