WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Fuquan Edwin scored 24 points and Seton Hall rallied from a 13-point deficit in the final 12 minutes to defeat Wake Forest 71-67 on Saturday night.
Brandon Mobley scored on a steal and dunk with 28 seconds left to send the Pirates (7-2) into the lead. When Wake Forest's C.J. Harris missed at the other end, it led to two free throws from Edwin with 7 seconds to play. Mobley's foul shot clinched it 5 seconds later.Seton Hall hit 63 percent (17 of 27) of its shots in the second half.Harris, a senior guard, scored a career-best 28 points for the Demon Deacons (4-5), who were aiming to notch consecutive victories for the second time this season. Harris connected on seven 3-point shots.Seton Hall didn't lead in the second half until the 2:18 mark on Tom Maayan's basket, pushing the Pirates to a 65-63 lead.Wake Forest cut the margin when Aaron Rountree made 1 of 2 free throws with 1:44 left, then went ahead on Harris' 3-pointer with just under a minute remaining.Seton Hall's Eugene Teague, who ended up with 19 points, picked up his fourth foul with more than 12 minutes remaining, putting a dent in the Pirates' inside presence. Still, Seton Hall outrebounded Wake Forest 20-8 after halftime.Wake Forest appeared in good shape at 51-39 after Tyler Cavanaugh drilled a rare 3-pointer.A full-court press helped turn the tide as the Pirates won for the first time on the road this season. They had lost their two previous true road games.Wake Forest was charged with five of its 15 second-half turnovers in the last five minutes.Travis McKie, a junior forward who failed to reach double-digit scoring in Demon Deacons' three previous games, scored 16 points.
