NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Martin Smith scored 22 points to lead four Lipscomb players in double figures as the Bisons cruised to an 86-62 win over Tennessee-Martin on Saturday night.
The Bisons jumped out to a 10-point lead in the first 6 minutes. After the Skyhawks (3-7) cut it to four, at 23-19 at the 8:20 mark, Lipscomb closed out the half on a 23-8 run.
Tennessee-Martin could get no closer than 14 in the second half despite 13 second-half turnovers by the Bisons.
Lipscomb shot 47.5 percent from the field (28 of 59) compared to 33.3 percent for the Skyhawks (20 of 60).
The Bisons also dominated on the glass, taking a 49-33 rebounding advantage.
