RUSTON, La. -- Kenyon McNeail scored 18 points and five other players had seven or eight points to lead Louisiana Tech to a 65-55 victory over Southern Mississippi on Saturday night.

The Bulldogs outscored the Golden Eagles (6-3) 20-11 from the free-throw line. Southern Miss outrebounded Louisiana Tech 46-30 but committed 23 turnovers and sent the Louisiana Tech to the line 34 times.
Louisiana Tech, which held a 24-23 halftime advantage, led by as many as eight points in the second half, but Jonathan Mills' layup pulled Southern Miss to 38-37 with 10:44 left. The Bulldogs stretched it to 60-47 at 3:14 and cruised to the victory.
