NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Jacob Parker had 16 points to lead 11 Stephen F. Austin players in the scoring column as the Lumberjacks defeated LSU Shreveport 73-46 on Saturday night.
Ice Asortse added 11 points off the bench for Stephen F. Austin (6-1), which is off to its best start since the 1981-82 season.
Rodney Milus scored 15 points for the Pilots (6-3), an NAIA squad who shot 20 percent (4 of 20) in the first half and trailed 40-13 at halftime.
The Lumberjacks opened the game on a 16-4 run and held the Pilots in single digits until 4:20 remained in the first half.
There's nothing to suggest the Jayhawks won't end up atop the Big 12 for a 13th season in a row. But what about a return to the Final Four?
DeSean Murray, who averaged 20.2 points as a sophomore at Presbyterian, will transfer to Auburn to play for coach Bruce Pearl.
