Portland 69, CS Bakersfield 51

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Ryan Nicholas had 21 points and nine rebounds Monday night to lead Portland to a 69-51 victory over Cal State Bakersfield.

Kevin Bailey added 18 points for the Pilots (5-6), who have won their last two after losing to UNLV and Kentucky.

Thomas Van Der Mars scored 12 points for Portland.

Tyrone had 23 points and eight rebounds for the Roadrunners (4-7), who had won three of their previous four. Stephon Carter scored 15 points for Bakersfield.

Portland trailed 4-3 before taking the lead for good. It was 29-22 at the half and the final score was the Pilots' largest lead of the night.
