IRVINE, Calif. -- Andre Stringer scored 19 points and LSU held on to beat UC Irvine 66-60 Tuesday night.
Adam Folker was the only Anteater in double figures with 13 points. UC Irvine (5-7) stayed close but never came within four points in the second half until the final minute.
LSU was the first Southeastern Conference team to play at Irvine since South Carolina in 2006. The Anteaters won that game 67-52.
