BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Chris Perez scored 16 points, the last two on a buzzer-beating follow to give Stetson a 69-68 win over Florida Atlantic Tuesday night.
The Hatters (3-7) ended a six-game losing streak in dramatic fashion. Florida Atlantic's Greg Gantt, who led all scorers with 26 points, hit a 3-point shot with a hand in his face to five the Owls (5-6) a 68-67 lead with 7 seconds remaining. Perez then rebounded Aaron Graham's miss and scored at the buzzer to win it.
Florida Atlantic led by double digits in the first half before leading 41-32 at the break. Later, a layup by Pablo Bertone (12 points) ended an Owls' drought of nearly 4 minutes, tying it at 60-60. Gantt then gave FAU two late leads, but Perez prevailed.
