YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Ryan Bass hit a jump shot with 2 seconds left to give Oakland a 59-57 victory over Eastern Michigan on Saturday.
Bass' game-winner came after J.R. Sims hit 1 of 2 free throws with 16 seconds left to tie the game, as Oakland (5-8) held on after the Eagles (6-5) rallied from a 14-point second-half deficit.
Eastern Michigan got 17 points from Jalen Ross, 11 from Derek Thompson and 10 from Daylen Harrison. The Eagles trailed 35-21 early in the second half and were still down by double digits with 9:48 remaining before going on a 15-3 run to take their first lead of the game, 52-50, with 2:25 remaining.
