PHILADELPHIA -- C.J. Aiken scored 19 points and blocked six shots to lead Saint Joseph's to a 63-49 victory over Drexel in a nonconference game Monday.
Aiken, who made all six of his shots, had a dunk, a block, an assist and four free throws in the first-half run, and a 3-pointer and a block in the second-half spurt.
The Dragons (4-8), who were led by Damion Lee's 21 points, got within five, 43-38 with 6:55 left, but a 3-pointer and a layup by Chris Wilson started a 17-5 stretch for the Hawks that put the game away.
Saint Joseph's enjoyed a big advantage in free throws, making 15 of 18 to Drexel's 2 of 4.
Maryland point guard Melo Trimble, considered a lock to leave the program before struggling in the second half last season, has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return for his junior season.
Louisville's Chinanu Onuaku, who recently underwent a medical procedure to correct a heart rhythm issue detected during the combine, will keep his name in the NBA draft pool.
Andrew White III will return to the Nebraska men's basketball team next season after removing his name from the NBA draft.
