KENNESAW, Ga. -- Chris Perez scored 19 points, including a last-minute three-point play, to lead Stetson over Kennesaw State 70-60 Wednesday night in Atlantic Sun action.
Stetson scored the last 10 points to hand Kennesaw State (1-13, 0-2) its 12th straight loss.
But Stetson rebuffed the rally. Adam Pegg (14 points) converted a 3-point play. After an Owls' miss, Perez completed his three-point play with 0:36 remaining. Two free throws by Joel Naburgs with 0:19 left clinched it.
Stetson had a 3-point advantage, hitting 8 of 15 treys while Kennesaw State made 3 of 16. Stetson shot 25 for 41 (61 percent) from the floor, Kennesaw State 24 for 61 (39.3 percent).
Markeith Cummings led the Owls with 19 points.
