NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Deonte Alexander had 19 points, Stephen Hurt scored 17 and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds and Lipsomb defeated East Tennessee State 60-56 on Saturday night in an Atlantic Sun Conference game.
Khion Sankey contributed eight points and nine rebounds for the Bisons (6-8, 1-2), who halted a two-game losing streak.
Lipscomb made 18 of 25 from the free-throw line -- East Tennessee State was 6 of 15 -- and outrebounded the Buccaneers 39-28.
Lipscomb held a 28-19 lead at the half, but Gadsden-Gilliard tied it at 37 with 11:18 left. ETSU's Rashawn Rembert made a 3-pointer to pull within 52-49 with 1:42 to go, but the Bisons made the key free throws down the stretch.
