STATESBORO, Ga. -- Adrian Powell and Jean Louisme each turned in 23 points as North Carolina A&T put together its first two-game win streak of the year by defeating Georgia Southern 71-65 Saturday night in nonconference action.
Powell added nine rebounds while Louisme's scoring output marked a career high with the Aggies (7-9). Jeremy Underwood added 12 points off the bench, and he, Powell and Louisme combined to shoot 54.8 percent (17 of 31) from the field while the rest of the team shot 18.2 percent (4 of 22).
Powell also had a team-best four of the Aggies' eight steals.
The Eagles' Eric Ferguson scored 22 points and grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds for his second straight double-double and fifth of the season. The junior netted 12 points with 12 rebounds in Georgia Southern's 65-61 loss to Alabama-Birmingham on Wednesday.
Georgia Southern (6-9) shot 35.3 percent (18 of 51) from the field.
