NORFOLK, Va. -- Devon Saddler posted 27 points and Jarvis Threatt scored all 19 of his points from the charity stripe Saturday to lead Delaware past Old Dominion 84-72 in the Colonial Athletic Association opener for the Blue Hens.

Saddler converted all 10 attempts from the line while Threatt, whose performance tied Delaware's single-game free throw record, made 19 of 20 attempts. Josh Brinkley (11 points) hit seven shots from the stripe as Delaware (6-8, 1-0) broke the school record for free throws made (41) in a game.

Delaware led 39-32 at intermission and extended its lead to 20, 66-46, in the second half behind a Jamelle Hagins free throw. Hagins, who also had 11 points, pulled down a game-high 16 boards. The 6-foot-9 senior is averaging 13.6 boards over the Blue Hens' last five games and leads the CAA in rebounding.

Keenan Palmore had 14 points for Old Dominion (2-13, 0-3).

    Research Notes

Delaware's Jarvis Threatt scored all 19 of his points at the free throw line the Blue Hens' victory. He's the first player since the 1996-97 season to score that many points without making a field goal.
Jarvis Threatt (THREET) of Delaware went 19-20 on free throws in today's win over Old Dominion, but did so while going 0-4 from the floor. The 19 points are the most without making a FG by any player since the 1996-97 season.
