DES MOINES, Iowa -- Anthony Downing scored 24 points to lead Missouri State to a 77-65 victory against Drake on Saturday night.
Downing was 7 of 10 from the field for the Bears (4-11, 2-1 Missouri Valley).
Missouri State shot 51 percent from the field for the game, while Drake shot 41.8 percent. Missouri State also had more rebounds 33-29 and only seven turnovers. Drake committed 10 turnovers, and Missouri State made 17 points off of them.
Missouri State led 36-26 at halftime and never looked back.
The Bears have won six in a row in the series with Drake.
Malik Newman, who had widely been considered a one-and-done player, has chosen to transfer to Kansas to continue his college career.
