HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Allan Chaney scored eight of High Point's 11 points in the second overtime period as the Panthers outlasted Liberty 77-72 Wednesday night in Big South Conference action.
Chaney finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds and John Brown had 18 points and 11 boards for High Point, which has won four of its last five games.
Although the Panthers (8-8, 3-1) took a seven-point lead early, the game was tied at 28 at intermission. High Point's Adam Weary made a layup to knot it at 58 and force overtime.
Brown's four points in the first overtime helped the Panthers lead 66-64 with 30 seconds left, but Davon Marshall's two free throws tied it at 66.
After a layup by Brown opened the second OT, Chaney clinched the win with a layup and six free throws.
