FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Deonte Alexander scored a career-high 29 points and Lipscomb scored the first 11 points of overtime to upset Florida Gulf Coast 87-78 Thursday night in Atlantic Sun Conference action.
The Bisons (7-10, 2-4) handed Florida Gulf Coast (12-8, 4-3) its first home loss of the season.
Alexander's 29 points came on 11-of-19 shooting from the floor, including six 3-pointers in 11 attempts.
Florida Gulf Coast led by 13 points in the first half before Lipscomb went on a 15-2 run to tie it at 56-56. The teams were still tied at 70-70 in the last 43 seconds of regulation. But Sherwood Brown (20 points, 10 rebounds) missed a 3-point shot for the Eagles and Alexander's layup rimmed out as time expired.
Lipscomb's 11 opening points in overtime clinched it.
