IRVINE, Calif. -- Adam Folker had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead UC Irvine to a 52-45 victory against Cal Poly on Wednesday night.
Daman Starring added 12 points for the Anteaters (11-11, 5-4 Big West), who ended the game on an 8-0 run without making a shot from the field.
Starring, Alex Young, Michael Wilder and Chris McNealy made two free throws each in the final 1:58 for UC Irvine. Meanwhile, Cal Poly had a turnover, missed two free-throw attempts and went 0 for 3 from the floor down the stretch.
Cal Poly shot 34.9 percent (15 of 43). UC Irvine had held 12 opponents under 40-percent shooting this season.
Indiana guard James Blackmon Jr., who averaged 15.8 points in 13 games before being injured last season, has withdrawn from the NBA draft.
Isaiah Briscoe has decided to withdraw from the NBA draft and will return to Kentucky for his sophomore season. Marcus Lee intends to transfer.
