SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Brett Olson scored 22 points, including four 3-point baskets, to pace Denver past Texas State 79-64 on Saturday.
Olson also set up his teammates with seven assists for Denver (13-8, 9-2 Western Athletic).
The score was tied twice in the contest, but Texas State (7-16, 3-8) never led.
Texas State wasted a strong all-around effort from Joel Wright. He scored 33 points, including 14 of 18 from the free-throw line, and pulled down 12 rebounds.
Denver had a 36-30 scoring advantage in the paint and a 22-14 scoring edge in turnovers.
