MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Allen Roberts scored 19 points to lead Miami (Ohio) to a 70-61 win over Central Michigan Saturday night.
The Redhawks (8-12, 3-5 Mid-American) went ahead to stay at 51-48 on Roberts' 3-pointer with 7:18 to play. Central Michigan stayed close and it was 59-57 when Roberts scored with 1:52 remaining. Miami was 8 for 8 at the free-throw line in the final minute.
Maryland point guard Melo Trimble, considered a lock to leave the program before struggling in the second half last season, has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return for his junior season.
