CHICAGO -- Alec Brown scored 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting, and Green Bay rode a late 10-0 run to 73-65 victory over Loyola of Chicago on Saturday afternoon.
Sultan Muhammad added 14 points for the Phoenix (12-11, 6-4 Horizon League), and Jordan Fouse had eight points and 13 rebounds. Green Bay shot 58 percent from the field, including 6 of 13 from 3-point range.
Ben Averkamp scored 17 points and Christian Thomas chipped in 16 for the Ramblers (13-9, 3-6). Jordan Hicks had 15 points, including three 3-pointers -- one of which gave Loyola a 55-50 lead with 6:40 to play. But Green Bay scored the next 10 points: Muhammad had a trey and a layup, Brown hit a jumper and Cole Stefan capped the run with a 3-pointer with 3:33 left.
Devon Turk's 3-pointer pulled Loyola within 66-62 with 39 seconds left, but the Ramblers could get no closer.
Mississippi State freshman guard Malik Newman will withdraw from the NBA draft, but sources told ESPN he may explore other opportunities besides returning to Mississippi State.
Seton Hall sophomore Isaiah Whitehead will stay in the NBA draft and not return for his junior season.
Washington State's trio of Josh Hawkinson, Conor Clifford and Ike Iroegbu have withdrawn from the NBA draft and will play their senior season with the Cougars.
