CLINTON, S.C. -- Eric Washington led four Presbyterian players in double figures with 13 points as the Blue Hose snapped a two-game losing streak and beat Gardner-Webb 57-54 in Big South Conference action Wednesday night.
Presbyterian (6-18, 3-7) trailed 49-41 with 9 minutes left, but rebounded with a 14-3 run, taking a decisive 53-52 lead on Joshua Clyburn's jumper with 2:41 remaining.
Tashan Newsome, the reigning Big South Player of the Week, had 23 points for the Bulldogs (13-11, 5-5). The senior is averaging 23.7 points over his past three games.
