SPARTANSBURG, S.C. -- Spencer Collins scored six of his 16 points during a key second-half run and Wofford defeated Elon 60-50 Thursday night in Southern Conference play.
Wofford (9-15, 3-8), which had lost three straight, trailed 22-21 at halftime but opened the second half with a 12-5 run. Collins capped the run with a dunk as the Terriers took a 33-27 advantage with 15:41 left to play.
Elon (15-8, 8-3) cut the deficit to one, 35-34, but Cochran and Indiana Faithfull combined to score seven straight to put the Terriers up for good.
Wofford outshot Elon 43 percent (21 of 49) to 37 percent (19 of 51) and hit 17 of 23 free throws.
Ryley Beaumont scored 17 for Elon, which connected on just 7 of 25 3-point attempts.
