BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Trey Finn scored 23 points and Arkansas State defeated Western Kentucky 67-49 Saturday night.
The Red Wolves (15-9, 9-6 Sun Belt Conference), leading 30-25 at halftime, pulled away in the second half to beat the Hilltoppers (13-12, 7-7) for Arkansas State's first win at Western Kentucky in 11 games since 1998.
T.J. Price led Western Kentucky with 21 points on 7-of-16 shooting. His teammates managed 28 points, no one scoring more than eight.
Price, 5 for 8 at the foul line, hit 2 of 9 3-pointers. Western Kentucky was 5 for 21 on treys. Arkansas State finished 9 of 20 from long range. That included two treys by Ed Townsel, who came off the bench to score 11 points.
The Hilltoppers shot 32 percent (16 of 50) overall. Arkansas State was 22 for 52 (42.3 percent).
Brandon Peterson had nine points and 10 rebounds for Arkansas State.
