NEWARK, Del. -- Devon Saddler scored 24 points and Jarvis Threatt posted his second straight double-double to help Delaware rally then hold off Old Dominion 75-73 Monday night in Colonial Athletic Association play.
Saddler, who has scored in double figures in 30 straight games dating back to last season, was 7-of-14 shooting.
Threatt, who had 20 points and 10 rebounds Saturday, tallied 10 points and a career-high 13 boards for the Blue Hens (13-12, 8-4), who trailed the last place Monarchs by as many as 10 in the second half before rallying to tie the game at 63 with 5:05 showing.
Old Dominion's DeShawn Painter broke the tie with a 3-pointer but the Monarchs (3-22, 1-12) missed their next five shots as Delaware pulled ahead for the win.
Painter paced Old Dominion with 22 points and 12 rebounds -- seven offensive -- but the Monarchs made just 10 of 15 free throws.
Purdue coach Matt Painter says players haven't used the fifth-year graduate transfer rule for its true intent.
The 2017 recruiting class is short on point guards, with Trevon Duval leading only eight prospects from the ESPN 60 who are still available.
The dust has settled after players made their NBA draft decisions. Which college teams won? Which lost? Well, Villanova is pretty happy. USC, meanwhile, might not be as thrilled.
