PINE BLUFF, Ark. -- Terrell Kennedy scored 15 points, all in the first half, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff coasted past Alcorn State 80-52 Monday night for its fifth consecutive victory.
Kennedy just missed a triple-double, finishing with nine rebounds and nine assists for the Golden Lions (12-13, 11-2 SWAC), who kept pace with Southern University at the top of the conference standings.
Pine Bluff led 37-20 at halftime and built the lead even more in the second half, shooting 61 percent. The Golden Lions finished at 51 percent for the game.
Purdue coach Matt Painter says players haven't used the fifth-year graduate transfer rule for its true intent.
The 2017 recruiting class is short on point guards, with Trevon Duval leading only eight prospects from the ESPN 60 who are still available.
The dust has settled after players made their NBA draft decisions. Which college teams won? Which lost? Well, Villanova is pretty happy. USC, meanwhile, might not be as thrilled.
