VERMILLION, S.D. -- Duke Mondy scored 16 points, including the deciding free throw with 4 seconds left, and Oakland defeated South Dakota 76-75 on Thursday.
Corey Petros had 17 points and 13 rebounds and Drew Valentine had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Golden Grizzlies (14-13, 9-4 Summit), who have won five in a row since a 97-78 home loss to South Dakota.
After Juevol Myles' free throws tied it with 22 seconds to play, Mondy made one of two free throws. Myles missed a shot to win at the end.
Travis Bader added 16 points for Oakland, which shot 46 percent from the field.
