HAMDEN, Conn. -- Ike Azotam hit a go-ahead free throw with 1:18 left and Quinnipiac beat Robert Morris 63-61 Thursday night in Northeast Conference play.
The first of Azotam's two free throws put the Bobcats ahead amid a 6-0 run that created a 62-58 lead.
Quinnipiac (11-13, 7-5) trailed 51-46 with 7:49 to play, but pieced together a 10-2 run over roughly the next 3 minutes and took a 56-53 lead on Izotam's layup.
The Bobcats then launched their 6-0 run and held the Colonials scoreless until Coron Williams' 3-pointer with a second left.
The win was Quinnipiac's third straight. Evan Conti led the Bobcats with 18 points, while Izotam had 10, all in the second half.
Johnson paced Robert Morris (17-9, 9-4) with 16 points.
Former Kentucky guard Ed Davender, the only Wildcat with at least 1,500 points and 400 assists, has died. He was 49.
Guard Naz Mitrou-Long, whose 2015-16 season ended in December due to hip problems, has been granted a hardship waiver for the coming season, Iowa State said.
As the Sooners look to life without superstar Buddy Hield and his sidekicks, it's clear their unseasoned players will need to grow up fast.
