RICHMOND, Ky. -- Mike DiNunno scored a game-high 21 points as Eastern Kentucky surged past Tennessee Tech 80-69 Thursday night in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
Trailing 46-41 early in the second half, Eastern Kentucky used a 16-4 run, capped by Stutz's 3-pointer, to go up 57-50 with 9:30 remaining.
Tennessee Tech (9-15, 3-9) got within five, 68-63 with 5:14 to go, but the Golden Eagles managed just one more field goal the rest of the way.
Even though the Golden Eagles shot 46.4 percent (13 of 28) in the second half, the Colonels shot better -- 57.1 percent (16 of 28).
Eastern Kentucky made 13 of 16 free throws after intermission.
