AKRON, Ohio -- Zeke Marshall scored 15 points with nine rebounds as Akron won its 17th straight and remained perfect in Mid-American Conference play, beating Bowling Green 67-50 Saturday night.
Akron won despite shooting 36.5 percent (23 of 63) from the field and making just 2 of 14 3-point attempts. The Zips helped themselves by making 82.6 percent (19 of 23) at the foul line and outrebounding the Falcons 43-35.
Bowling Green (10-15, 5-7) shot just 32.8 percent (19 of 58), making 3 of 12 from long range. Richaun Holmes led the Falcons with 15 points and eight rebounds off the bench, while A'uston Calhoun added 11 points.
The Falcons went final 5 1/2 minutes without a field goal.
